Dr John Crook

The Teacher of the Western Chan Fellowship is John Crook. He leads most of the retreats, though there are also sometimes other teachers invited. He holds Dharma Transmission from Chan Master Sheng-yen of Taiwan and New York in the Linji tradition of Great Master Hsu Yun of China and is a fully authorised teacher. You may contact John if you wish to dicuss any of the teachings of the Western Chan Fellowship, or if you are considering booking on a retreat and are uncertain whether it would be right for you.

Eddy Street

The Chair of the Western Chan Fellowship is Eddy Street. You may contact him regarding any aspect of the WCF activities, unless your enquiry would be more appropriately made directly to one of the other officers.

Dr Simon Child

The Secretary of the Western Chan Fellowship is Dr Simon Child. You may contact him for any of the routine business of the WCF, except note that Jake Lyne deals with financial matters and donations, and Stuart McLeod deals with membership matters and applications, New Chan Forum Subscriptions, and retreat bookings. Simon is also the Picture Editor for New Chan Forum.

Jake Lyne

The Treasurer of the Western Chan Fellowship is Dr Jake Lyne. If you wish to make a donation to support the work of the WCF then please contact Jake.

Hugh Carroll

The Membership Secretary of the Western Chan Fellowship is Hugh Carroll. He is also responsible for Retreat Bookings and for Subscriptions to New Chan Forum. Fellowship Applications and renewals are made with him.

The Editor of New Chan Forum is Marian Partington. Articles for consideration for inclusion in NCF may be submitted either to Marian or to John Crook, or preferably sent by email to editor@WesternChanFellowship.org. Artwork could be sent directly to the picture editor Simon Child

WCF Local Meditation Groups Leaders

There are several meditation groups around the UK associated with the Western Chan Fellowship. Please see the WCF Local Meditation Groups.

The Chan Meditation Center

The Chan Meditation Center in New York has a program of retreats and other activities. Sometimes members of the WCF travel to New York to attend their retreats with Chan Master Sheng-yen, and you may like to consider doing so also.
