Where?
The Glastonbury Chan Group meets every Monday at 7:00 p.m. in the meditation hall of the Shekinashram, Dod Lane, Glastonbury (map below). The first half of the evening consists of a broadly-based Buddhist meditation period, followed by a reading and Dharma discussion. Following a break for tea at 8:15 p.p., the second half of the evening is devoted to a more formal Chan session (see also our Service Sheet for this session). Participants may come for the whole evening (arriving just before 7:00pm) or may attend the first or second halves only ( if attending the 2nd. half, please arrive between 8:15 and 8:25). Read the full programme details.
For beginners (who are always welcome) or those who wish to acquaint themselves with the methods of Chan, meditation instruction is available from an authorised instructor. If you do require instruction, we ask that you arrive by 7:00pm; instruction will then be made available during the discussion period in a separate room.
